Popped Emmental cheese
As the name suggests, Swiss Emmental cheese originates from the Emmental; A valley (tal) through which the Emme (river) flows. This cheese is slightly sweet and has a nutty flavour. During ripening, gases are created in the cheese, which cause the characteristic holes. Popping Emmental literally takes the cheese to the next level (mountain high)!
